Should also add, its far better searching local Estate agents(Spit) sites than using Right move directly.

Thera a few out past Tadley towards Newbury way. But that's a commutes passed the three worst junctions on the m4 this side if the m25.

Currently looking Crowthorne/Sandhurst way. A few but don't like the house that comes with it. :(

Hot to be well away from Flood plane too. :-\

I hear Reading's nice.

Just browsing the area on right move. What a pita finding a house with a usable Double garage! :-\

Alot have been converted into rooms or partly blocked off for storage space.

What would you look for in your next house/location...?

looking at new houses myself, I want a single garage, even that is a struggle. As you say lots have been converted into rooms, having to discount a lot due to no garage. Often no space to buy one either.

You might like this Chris, single AND double garage:

Quite tempted by that myself, but not in the right position at the moment to make an offer :(

I wouldn't want to move to Ash Vale.. unless I had a thing for men in uniform.

Might work for Chris, I suppose? ;D

Being near a motorway, and under the flight path to Heathrow, I wouldn't go looking to move close to a Railway line.

But yes that's the sort of thing.  :)

4 beds though. Oh and detached. ...with on suite bathroom. In fact, make the garage on suite as well. ;D

Think we're going to be staying put for a while.  ::)

The only thing I would want is a double garage....having said that, I have access to a pretty large shed 24-7!

I live near the Paddington line currently, if all trains were electric would not bother me as they are practically silent.

Due to my budget I'm looking at Camberley/Ash/Farnborough myself, as we need rail link and decent motorway access.

Ohh a good garden too, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms ideally.  :)

Like Camberley, but what we want is usually outside our budget  :(

I know that area quite well and I think the biggest cause for concern would be the A331. I don't think it'd be as bad as it might look on the map noise-wise. The line through North Camp runs quite a few DMUs, but it's a fair way away. The problem is, in that area, finding something away from all major roads and railways is a tall order, and adding an en-suite and another bedroom on top of that is going to push you north of 400k, hence I moved a little further afield (and I'm glad I did, as I'm in a much quieter neck of the woods but still pretty well connected).

Given our budget, it does indeed look like £400k plus to stay the same distance from London and Slough. Nearer London, no chance of a dg and loose a bedroom for the same money. No point going there.

Could get what we want out towards Newbury but that adds an hour to my journey home. And on a 12 hour shift, that's an important hour. 1/2 hour going in as well I expect. :(

Land to build a garage would be ok. Probably needs to be much more rural in that case though.

The odd property with outbuilding foes pop up. Trouble is the house usually looks like there bodies berried under the patio. :-\

As a child I lived in Ash and hate both Ash and Ash Vale as there is no community spirit.

Sandhurst is a great community and I've never had any regrets moving here. Central Sandhurst and Little Sandhurst are much better than Owlsmoor and College Town. Houses with double garages tend to be big and expensive!

Double garage in Sandhurst /College Green area is about £460,000 to £500,000. My son has one there and his is one of the very few where garage not converted to additional room. Having said that no car has ever been in the garage as it is full of gym gear, punch bag (nit his missus btw) and golf clubs.
