I wouldnt go for the XJ 600 , i was lent a CBF 600 while my ZX1200 was in for service . I was quite surprised how comfy it was and handled really well , also having the upright riding style it gave no back ache CBF  :) Fast enough for commute work and half decent wind deflection with the half fairing  :y

I'm sure on a GS on that age, Haynes do a book of boolax?

You know my thoughts, we've discussed at length, and hence I still have my ZX10.

As to DIY servicing, thats probably going to be the decision to sell soon, or keep long term (until its worth sod all).

Lack of interest shows its probably priced too high.

Unlike cars, bikes rarely come to the point of being worth SFA.

I would say that Mr Tunnie's bike has lost most of the value it's going to, and probably won't be worth significantly less a decade from now.......probably a further 25% drop. :y :y :y

These flat twins have been around since before time was invented, and most jobs are simple and accessible to your average DIY'er.

***k the dealers,  Mr tunnie......... Keep the old girl and get your spanners out. :y ;)

I always liked the old GPZ's  :)

I nearly bought a GPZ900 a few years ago and I've always kinda wished I had!  :-\  It had a few issues though if I remember rightly....  :-\

Just found this!!  :o :o :o

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kawasaki-GPZ-900R-A8-/151049548372?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item232b413254

Lot of money spent on that , think they were only about £3k brand new  :-\ I would rather have a tunnie style sit up and beg bike like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KAWASAKI-ZRX1200S-ZRX-1200S-model-ZR1200-B2P-one-previous-owner-FSH-excellent-/251278766529?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item3a8161b1c1
Same bike same colour as the one i had  ;)
Yes I like that!  :y

My CBR600 is gathering dust at the moment, but I've often thought if I ever change it, I'd get something a bit more sit up and beg....  :-[  ;D

Had one of those i used for work and back in the winter , never missed a beat  :) Too cramped for long journeys though , getting on a bit now but the CBX750 i had was a bike you could ride for days in comfort  :)

My cbr600fx has been gathering dust for quite a while now.I rode it back from the MOT station last September and it hasn't turned a wheel since. Iirc it only did a few hundred miles the year before that.I really must tidy it up a bit and flog it. ::)
