Saw the new superman movie last night. Never thought much of previous movies but this one was quite good. Of course, Henry Cavill's body shape reminded me of myself   . Anyhow, storyline was quite good but was somehow overall a bit disappointed. I think it was just CGI overkill, bit too Transformer-y. Some of the effects were really good but perhaps less-is-more and it wasnt as if all those special effects were needed to cover lack of plotline. Only so many fireball/explosions I can see before they get a bit boring. Hadnt realized that Russell Crowe and Kevin Costner were in it either beforehand. Anyone else seen it yet?

not seen it, but reviews have been average to poor, I want to see new Trek film as that gets some stonking reviews.

Quite! I havent seen the new StarTrek either but everyone I know who has seen it has said its really good. I didnt really expect much from the first one (2009) but really enjoyed it so am looking forward to seeing the new one. Very rarely go to the cinema but saw Man of steel at the local Odeon multiplex and I think they mistook the concept of surround sound for simply blasting out the sound at top volume from all sides! Maybe Im just getting old?

With you there, I prefer to be at home with snacks not at 500% of normal price, no one has their phones on & I can pause it to take a slash 

I tend to only go to the movies for big ones, Avatar was on, that had to be seen in 3D on a massive screen.

Part time Trek fan so think I'll pop along to this one, just hope the Engineering section is better, very poor effort on that last time i felt. Otherwise, I think its one of the best series reboots of them all

I reckon both were well worth a look.

I went and saw the new Trek film - well worth it especially if you're a Star Trek fan, there are many, many nods to the original cannon timeline.. although Kirk really does have a limited range of facial expressions to pull from (hence the many parody images in the web)

Missed out on Iron Man 3 so Man of Steel is on the list to go and see next.. if I ever find time for the cinema again!

Seen all the star trek series's and stargate both are good really enjoyable classics.. But the new Star Trek films look more up to date and even more enjoyable its just a shame they don't make a new series with the same quality they've put into the 2 new Trek films.
