The 5.7 was an LS1, the later 6.0 is the LS2......

And yes, a certain Vx piece of software has every detail you could ever want regarding fitting a V8 in the Omega.....because they did it and then canceled the launch at the 11th hour.

Do you know what its called?
Yes, thanks.

Whats it called matey?

Unfortunately is copyright material and not freely available so its iffy ground to discuss it on this site despite some people selling it on ebay.

What does it actually do, tells you step by step

No but, it has all the technical info, diagrams etc for engine fitting, removal etc and major work on a car built with one fitted......which is obviously very useful for a conversion job.

You'll go from the performance of a dead frog, to a dead frog with a huge stick of bang bang shoved up its arse on a short fuse!

Consdering you can get a decent facelift for 1k, +4k for the engine.

Odds and sods, say total 6k, you have a BMW M5 type performance for 6k!

Do it mate.. if i was rolling in wades of cash i would do it!

I would also keep the styling standard.... and leave the 2.2 badge on ;)

has anyone on here done it before or will i be the first?
I might try and do a photoshop pic of the engine to see what it might look like.
I wonder how much it will effect the performance?

I know someone selling an LS2 extremely cheap at £6995, he paid over 8k to import it and it still on the ship so u could get yourself a bargin!

naa there wont be much, u wont even feel the extra 300 horses  :y but it will make a nice noise.

P.s. who you getting to do the work?

You should write a guide ;)

Guessing you'd need the rear dif & shafts, prop, gearbox, brakes all from a monaro aswell...

Wondering if this 'program' mark is going on about is the one which has an 'online' version accessible via a link on the TC sit, and is via a subscription...

This kinda job is way beyond most mechanics skill level (no offence intended), you'll be needing a fabricator with lots of motorsport background, and an auto electrition, then a mechanic with lots and lots of patients!

Ive been looking into this alot and it would be easier (and cheaper) to import a holden V8 and make it look like a omega. but then again an actual omega V8 would be the dogs dangles!  :y

Yes, though the online one is always out of date.  Though for this, the age is not important.
