Decided to spend the day doing the advisorys (discs, pads, ball joint)on my tranny, prior to lining out and converting to a dayvan.
Up and out at 7am, so I can spend afternoon in my shed woodworking

Jack up the front end, and the scissor jack thread strips

So off to the scrappy to buy another scissor jack (only 1/4 mile away)
Jack up, and take off calipers. undo ball joint.
SNAP the ball joint splitter

Out comes sammy, and change pads, disk, and ball joint
Bolt everything back together.
Other side.
wheel off. caliper off.
come to remove the caliper mount , and the bolt is rounded off

put eveything back together, and down to dealers for new bolt (£1.68)
Get back, jack up again.
Wheel off.
Used the wrong size torx driver, and round off the caliper slide bolt

Back to scrap yard for new bolt (free)
Order new ball joint and track rod end (£40) - didn't need them, but doubt I can sammy them off without damage, and need to remove them to get hub assembly off for access to remove rounded off bolts.
Bit of oil on my glasses, so take them off to wipe, and snapped the frame

So now I'm off to vision express - on the bus, cos van is in bits, and I can't drive without glasses any way.
And now it's p'ing it down.

Some days, it's just not worth getting out of bed.
