It does. Lots.

You won't notice the pump missing unless you sit in the car in winter with engine off/heater on, which means a flat battery in 20mins with the radio on as well, going by Mrs Gixers efforts. ::)

Oh dear  :-X
Can the connecting pipes to the pump be blocked off then? or do they actually need to be connected to each other when the pump's removed?

Join them together using a couple of inches of copper pipe. ;)

Iirc there is an oe pipe from vx that replaces the pump gubbins. Might be listed in the guides. It replaces the bulk head exit hose so it doesn't kink. Which is a risk when joining. Lazydocker has details I'm sure.

Actually, not all omegas had the winter pack pump,so a hose from a car without it should do the job I suppose. Its just possible I might even have one lying around somewhere. Will have a look for you when Ive got a minute. :y

Thanks Mark, it's definitely the way forward. When I get home tonight I'm going to try and at least remove the secondary heater from its mount, and tie it out of the way to improve access. Thinking I may also try to fabricate a new fixing for the vap itself, which may then allow for greater flexibility in positioning, particularly with regard to the feed pipes.
Still smarting that I wasted time with the front bumper though :-[
On the plus side, I suppose I'll know how to do it again if necessary  ;D

Yes al, sorry. Re reading earlier posts it may seem that I was abrupt or ungrateful when you mentioned it. That was certainly not my intention, and I apologise if this is how it was perceived.
I didn't think that particular position was suitable for me for the reasons mentioned, and I was looking for alternatives. The fact the heater can be removed should hopefully rectify the problem  :y

No worries :y Alot of the guide was written using Tunnies car, which although easily dismissed being a four pot, is still very much relevant to a V6 installation...

If you wanted to retain the heater pump, you might find space for it (the heater pump) further forward, attached to the airbox, next to the MAF :-\

Depending on the design of the vapouriser, it should be possible to bolt it through from the wheel arch. There's a pic of where the bolt is :y and I suspect the bolt shown is within an inch of that position on most of the Lpg Omegas here :-\

ive just fitted a prins system to the mv6, it is fitted behind the drivers bumper and was also in same location on doner car, really high up against chassis rail, keeps engine bay from getting cluttered and a very tidy way forward, on the elite it also has a prins and this one is beside air box and a pita when comes to working on it
