Trade club changes
« on: 06 July 2013, 08:11:16 »

I have always used Bellinger Vauxhall Grove, Oxon, as my trade club supplier. I was advised yesterday that they can no ldo trade club. Vauxhall have changed rules, dealers in TC must turn over £50k pa TC, run 3 delivery vans, and have a TC sales rep. Is there a list of surviving TC dealers?

Thanks, Chris. I'll give it a month to settle down, then re-register somewhere.

Its not dealers specific. You can use any participating dealer, anytime.

I did not know that! I have always been loyal to Bellingers. So as long as I show my Autobahnstormers card I can get trade club terms at any participating dealership  I wonder where my card is?

Just for info and fuel on the fire so to speak.
I was informed by my (UK) local that they no longer do Trade Club, for the very reason that has been mentioned already.
l
However they did say they would still recognise my ABS card and give me a 'favourable' discount, obviously not TC prices of course.

I reckon I would be better of ordering all I need from Andy Clears and pay the postage, would probably still be cheaper than the 'favourable' discount.

But GM trade prices aren't that good. Better than retail for those items that absolutely must be GM, of course...

Interesting.

Went to Dan Harford (less than a stones throw from my house) yesterday for 5ltr 10w 40 and the bill came to £32.50 after showing my Trade Card.

Told the friendly man behind the counter to do better and I ended up paying £23.80.

I won't be using local dealers anymore.  They invariably don't have the parts I want, and are far more expensive than AndyC.

 ......

My local dealer knows better now than to try to fob me off with prices other than TC prices ...... I've just stood my ground in the past & told them what TC price is & that's what I'll pay. It's worked.  :y

Interesting. went to my local dealer on Saturday for 5l 10W40, filter, sump plug washer and 4 plugs £26.66 inc VAT.

No questions asked. Only difference I have noticed is that when I order over the phone, they won't now just take the card number. They want the full postal address that the card is registered to.
