OK so today is the day to check it out and (problem 1) unfortunately the road outside has been relayed so can't get jack under car , (problem 2) car won't start under its own power so battery totally flat which also means alternator isnt working at all then (problem 3) mot out on monday so can't get it tested even so i have been told it will fly through so i am in a difficult position... does anyone want a cheap mv6 2.6 2002 estate with a stainless exhaust and new tyres blah blah blah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Car been taken to my garage. alternator/voltage regulator being fixed along with everything else. cant wait to get her back...

Just got car back. alternator replaced. all working fine, except th knocking from the back passenger side. garage couldn't find the reason.

Spare wheel securely fixed?  The Missus was complaining her rear suspension was knackered, making noises, sounds like the wheels are going to fall off, can't drive it too scared etc etc etc...... turns out her wheel brace was floating around under the spare wheel!  ;D  Stupid girl  >:(

check the rear shocks for lose mounting at the top if not lose then the shock may be fubar.

the knocking starts when driving, then increases with speed. nothing loose or worn underneath. something mechanical
