So, front seats changed and it's complaining about both side airbags?

Sounds to me like the seats were from an earlier model without side airbags.

Put the correct seats back in, then turn light out.

If you must have leather (why? cold in winter, hot in summer), get the right ones :)

I'm guessing its probably got the wrong pretensioners as well, so little chance of playing silly beggers.

OK, if it's got compatible seats then best case the ECU will still require a reset with a tech 2 to turn the light off. If the problem was in the old seat, then you're in luck. If not, it won't solve the problem, but will give you more pointers as to what the problem might be.

I'm a little confused.

The original seats had airbags?  The replacement seats have airbags?

If the original seats DIDNT have airbags, why would you have a problem?  If they did and there was a fault with them, the replacement seats and a reset would kill the light, UNLESS there was a problem with the replacement seats......

Start from the beginning, middle in the middle and end at the end.  What exactly have you done and where is the problem?

A tech 2 will show you which circuit it's complaining about, and also allow you to check the resistances.. if the operator knows how. ;)

Agreed, said kit wants to have a LONG cable on it if I'm going to connect it to the airbag ECU. ;)

Actually, given recent explosive events, I'm probably the last person who should be making wise cracks. Sorry Kev, was purely a flippant, non-serious remark  :-[

Not sure about the tech 2. it looked like the boy's one.

The 39 year old firenza passed  ;D Mig failed on 2 broken rear springs  :'( thought the handling was a bit duff lol
No advisory's about the lack of airbag light !!!!!!!!!

I had a w reg cdx with leather the engine blew so i bought my fathers y reg cd with knackered drivers seat. The airbag light was on in the cd. Both cars have airbags in the seats & the plugs were the same.

I swapped the interior's over but the light was still on. tried to reset with the tech2 but no joy  :'(
