Just been looking it up on OOF searches as to be honest I've never thought about it much on Omegas and seen as the 2.2 doesn't have it although a 2.0 Vectra does is beyond me, Anyways I've had the 2.2 some 4 years and have managed fine without TC and when I got the 3.2 some months ago i presumed TC was OFF!!!  and have only last evening pressed the button presuming it turned "ON" the "Traction Control"  (now i suposse your wondering why i wanted to turn TC on, Well since the alternator incident i thought it best to have TC on trying to be like miss daisy ) I didn't realise I had actually just turned it off till now, The exact opposite of what I intended to do I feel so stupid  ...

I know now it has always been on but have yet to see the TC light flash as in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fNz0DA6o4c probably haven't tried hard enough then

but you are definitely not alone! As you have found out, TC/ESP or whatever else a car maker calls it, is, by default ON. Pressing the button turns it OFF & puts a light on the dash to remind you what you have done.

Look at it this way, when any light is "lit" on the dash, during driving, are any of them a good sign

I never had a button in the elite  Light came on though

The flashing fuel light merely means you've been having too much fun

Wwd shitboxes benefit from TC as they wheelspin at will and need summat to disguise the woeful torque steer...

Nope, I thought the TC operation was obvious

As to the TC light flashing, I've managed a significant distance over 1/4 of a mile with it permenently flashing, in order to fully test it (after Andy B was banging on about how shit it was ).  Shagged the rear pads

So to get the TC light to flash (to see if it works) I'd have to completely floor it from a stand still on a (dry) surface and less so on damp/wet surface... Sounds simple enough might try that one day (with someone else's Omega  )

Mind you, your attention might be more focused on the rear end if the traction is a little slow to react!
