have a word with a lokal building company and tell them what you need doing, then get a builders site safe delivered, put whats left off your worldly goods in the site safe ready for mr insurance to asseses, send the bill for this to "robbing, insurance plc" they might then start to move,if that fails then get in touch with lokal/national press and tv,using a lokal reporter.
the headline
lokal couple survive near death, insures no help.

also you could be suffering ptsd from this, claim mangement.
might not be the route you wish to take but worth a look.

Obviously you need site clearance. If applicable?

Possibly employ an independent loss assessor, as recommended to Webby, here?
Let him deal with the insurance companies.
Also, find a storage company to keep your stuff in - it should bill to the insewarance same as a courtesy car?

With all the grief you're having Jamie, I would think the independant assesor may be the way to go to get things moving .

Insurance companies  . . .total to*s*rs >:( >:( >:( >:(

Quote from the AGC website "The demands on demolition companies has changed significantly over the years, with todays emphasis being on sorting and recycling as much material as possible." that sounds about right......

I guess what you need is a gang of labourers to lift, shift and sort the contents of the pile. Lots of building projects I have worked on have started with shifting "stuff" before we can start the main job. I wouldn't know where to find the right people to do it though. The problem is you need someone silly enough to take the job on but sensible enough to do it to your satisfaction :-\

Shed not suitable? Then rent some secure short term storage. We put all our furniture/belongings in such a place near Walsall. They are all over the place and different sizes available. Bill the insurance company .

OR a forum member with space? You could put it here but transport costs might be prohibitive......

TB, you should organise your own skip and then organise an OOF members day at your place to help with the clear up, OOF style  ;)

How about the day or two after Terberts bash :-\ need a skip (or three... timber/bricks and concrete/metal)for the rubble and a couple of ground sheets for the contents...

Is your neighbour suffering the same issues :-\

I would say a few words to the insurance ombudsman at this point, or at least threaten to. They are there to put you back in the position you were in before the "outage", not put impossible obstacles in the way.

Do you want to name and shame the insurance company?

I very much doubt they'd feel any shame.

His loss adjuster suggests a joint clearup, that he is willing to arrange. And obviously joint rebuild - we'd jointly prefer to use local builders, that are close by, for reasons of greater trust and convenience.

However, my claims handler seems less willing for this level of cooperation.
