Well done to the girl.

Street theft is a big problem all over Eastern Europe. The first thing my wife does is take all of the luggage labels off our cases when we leave Kiev airport so people can't see that we have come from the UK and are a 'rich' target and I keep quiet with my wife doing all of the talking (although nothing new here  ::) ;D ;D ;D) for taxis etc.

She knew how the Russian official would behave in similar situation , certainly if she had no money to persuade cops she would be the agressor. I have some negative experience with officials in the neighbour Ukraine based of which say the aboves. All the post-soviet countries suffer with this sad phenomenon.
