Bonnet Strut Retaining Clips
« on: 31 July 2013, 18:20:26 »

Dear Mr/Mrs Admin
Would you be so kind to move this to bits wanted, please :y

My Grandson has lost the two retaining clips (the ones that are nearest the bonnet) does anybody know where I can get them?
Have tried the local scrappy's and parts people,to no avail.
Dont really want to buy new struts as their is nothing wrong with the existing!

Thank you all for your help (especially Mr/Mrs Admin) ;)
Paul

I would think the clips on the boot and tailgate lifters on any Vauxhall will be the same so you could get ones from an Astra/Vectra hatchback.

Worth a try anyway.

Actually SandBoy... I was looking for something in the garage today and stumbled upon a pair of old bonnet lifters with the clips still in place.

They're yours for the price of the postage mate.

BTW, when you remove them, you only have to pull the clip back slightly to release them from the ball on the bonnet, you don't have to remove the clip entirely.  I realise that is not entirely useful info for you now.
