Idly looking through LPG conversions, I came across this page. I rather like the idea of the doughnut tank (top left), except what do you do about the spare wheel? (I know, don't carry one...and hope for the best!

As said .. carry an aerosol can of "gunge" .. but you risk destroying your tyre, and these ONLY work for small leaks.. rip the tyre and you are stuck.
Also .. my research indicated the biggest torodial tank was about 45ltrs gas .. now I'm getting about 4.0 miles/litre on gas .. which gives 180 miles at best, probably less when towing/around town .. possibly less ... and there are not THAT many LPG places ... so you could end up using petrol whilst looking for LPG .. NOT a cheap solution.
It was for these, and other, reasons I opted for the large 80 ltr (68 ltr gas) cylinder tank .. gives a range of around 250-300 and I still have a spare wheel.
OK I've lost 1/3 of the boot.. but it's a damned big boot to start ..
