2000 vs 2003 car tax bands

Hello,

Am I right in thinking a 2000 W 2.5 V6 is cheaper to tax than a 2003 2.2 ?

If I've looked at this correctly it's £123 vs £154 for 6 months  :o  ::)

Is it based on when the emissions nonsense came into force in 2001?

My 2002 2.2 and 2002 3.2 both cost £154 for 6 months :o :(

You'd think the 2.2 would be cheaper  :-\

Yep I would, it seems from what I've read the V6 is cheaper to tax than the 2.2 purely on the emissions dates I think?  :o

Now that may help convince SWMBO a little  ;D

Post March 2001 all Omega's are in a higher band, 2.2 is same tax as 3.2

Pre March 2001 all Omega engines tax same.

Can't believe 2.2 is the same as 3.2 nowadays tho.  :o

A 2005 6.0 Vauxhall Monaro is same tax as 2.2 or 3.2 Omega :)
