Hi guys,

just called my local Vx dealer for a quote on the cambelt, water pump and aux belt replacement. i wanted to see what im going to save by doing it myself.

everything in, parts, vat and labour.

have a guess  :y

My VX dealer quoted £520 including a new water pump.

After pleading poverty we agreed on £330 including a new water pump.......which I think is reasonable.

Be prepared to haggle, Mr Webby. :y

Wow!!! That's astronomical!! (have I spelt it right Andy B  :D ;D ) only messin!  :)

I had my Skoda's 2 belts done which involved the whole front of the car being removed i.e. bumper, grill, headlights etc.... and they charged me £350 with w/pump and all auxiliaries pulleys & stuff at a skoda main dealer. They even gave me a courtesy car free too.
