Yes, remember the XF and the £300 bill I had for an oil change :'(

 :o :o :o :o :o

The bird at work I serviced the Renault for.....

She was quoted £159 for just an interim service. When I looked at the Renault site (out of interest again cos it makes me feel good to see exactly how much I've saved myself/saved someone) all they did was an oil and filter change and a ''25 point inspection''. so oil and filter and ''oh yeah your exhaust has gone''. utter rubbish! I got all the stuff for her for £35 and a proper job done including lubricating her brakes as they were new and still squealing after 2 months! no evidence of any lube at all and almost seized slide pins!!!!

I dread to think what the repair cost would have been of the coilpack I replaced for her. one CPP and it literally took two mins.

Waterpump would have pushed it up, they are mega expensive from Vx now. Well over £100 on trade!

cheaper to fit inline electric pump :-\

Why on earth would you want to do that  :-\

Aux V6 water pumps are super reliable, around £45 for a good pattern one.

water pump robs power---thats why pro mods run electric pump and top fuel dont run pump at all-have got electric pump here
for my v8--if/when can be asked-was just saying vx prices are stupid--they want you to buy new car every year instead :(

Does make me laugh everyone who thinks a Vauxhall dealer is expensive for a service, seriously!?

Try similar at BMW, Audi ect. All much more, as Guffers quoted price for jag.

As for robbing power, these are 2ton luxo barges. Can't see an electric pump doing much  :D

Of course. Comparatively speaking Vx (and Renault for that matter) are going to be a lot cheaper than the likes of BMW and Audi for servicing. For example my friends boss got a promotion or a bonus or whatever, cant quite remember and treated herself to a 2 year old A Class Merc. She was horrified when, enquiring about a major service at the Mercedes dealer, she got a quote in the £700 mark!!! A service!!!! Just cos they can  ::)

My point though was more about what you get for your money. Renault being £159 for effectively just an oil change. Yes it's a lot cheaper than Guffer's £300 oil change. But both scenarios are daylight robbery imo.

The only downside for me is cos I did a good service, fixed the coilpack and check engine light removed and she was ecstatic now everyone wants their car doing at work  ::) My answer being i'll do it if it's not French and I want paying! ;)
