Amazing recovery I'd say. How long do you think until your better than your pre op pain level? I'm presuming its difficult to tell so far? 
Sorry, by that I mean, tell the difference between pain from the op, and pain from the previous injury?

It's a recovery time measured in months - years and I'm guessing that as I'm not allowed to "Bend, Stretch, Lift, Twist or perform Repetitive motions like hoovering/ironing" for 6 weeks that I shouldn't expect too much before then

The improvements are phenomenal at the moment but I have to be realistic... The improvements are going to slow down and become smaller in the not too distant future and that's when I need to remain positive

But to answer your question... Psychologically I'm better than before, I just need to wait and see if I am physically too

There are tick boxes at 6 weeks, 6 months, a year, and then another I can't remember. There is still the possibility this could need repeating or that the bone fusion doesn't take or fuses incorrectly or... You get the picture! This treatment is far from over
