Chipsaway... cheaper or better alternative?
« on: 20 August 2013, 18:12:14 »

Yo dudes :)

Someone has scratched the ford fusion. seriously getting sick of being hit, scratched and bashed! (omega sorted though ;))

anyway its not bad and hardly noticeable but there are a couple of other scratches on the ford. is there a decent alternative to chipsaway as I assume they'll be expensive?

Wouldn't try the local one in Wellingborough - quoted my mate £250 for a simple job which he had done by a bodywork company, to a high standard, for £125.  I was with him when he went to Chipsaway - large premises (no mobile guys locally), guys standng around, little work.  The bodywork company had loads of work in!!

Have been using this stuff but "Blue" on the Elite for the odd stone chip's on the front bumper and seriously it does a good job and lasts a few washes as well, Considering its price I'd give it 7.5/10 :y

Webby, find a local independent mobile scratch, paintless dent and chip man... I paid £300 for one to come and do bumps, scatches and chips on 2 cars - 6 hours work!!

He did a stunning job too :y :y

I will second that. Yougest son scrapped his bumper on a wall about 2 weeks, got appointment with our local chap for 18th September. He is very very good and worth waiting for.  :y

Let us know how you get on bear, LD mentioning £300 for 2 cars and that amount of work is a good price. So if you can find someone in Northants for £150 approx, i'd consider getting the 2.2 a little touch up too.

So interested to see how you get on  :y

Any chance of some before & after photos?  :)

I use to know a paint sprayer who did professional paint jobs and custom car show jobs , he was excellent and sprayed my trunk spoiler plus fitted it for £40 . He's disappeared now so that wont help  ;D But i will try and find out where he has gone .
Mite be worth asking Symes if he knows someone in the hot rod trade  :y :y
