diff ratio

i have a 2.5td 96 omega and would like to replace the diff with an lsd if i can get one! does any one know what ratio diff came in the 2.5td and what other diff ratios came in the petrols and what ratio the lsd diff is .
and Was it a certain model omega the lsd came in or was it an optional extra?

Sorry can't help on the ratio, but for UK at least, it was an optional fit for Police Omega's only  :y

not sure but IIRC tds were 3.45

Iirc, the limited slip diff's are mostly 3.9's

You can get one made up but it won't be cheep  :(

Manual plods generally have 3.7 diffs fitted. LSD or not depends on the original order :y

Yep, certainly UK sourced LSDs will all be in the "petrol" ratios, so you're likely to have to get one made up out of two diffs if you want it to work with a TD. Might be worth looking overseas, as, in other markets, LSDs, and TDs were more common.

Most of the plods Ive come across with LSD had the correct ratios to suit the Box, 3.9 Autos and 3.7 for Manuals.

These were of course the 3.0 and 3.2 petrol engines.

cheers looks like i wont be getting a lsd so  :'( thanks for the info . she can stay a one wheel wonderer for another while !!
