Soz ;D Back in 1988 had one of those,it was green ex Met, my brother was a Met mechanic and used to know when they were being released into the "wild".That used to go like the proverbial off a shovel, cant actually remember what happened to it :-\ we had that and a Rover3500(SD1) at the same time.
I used to drive them while Bro :'( done the spannering, hence my very limited knowledge of mechanics! :-[

The dolly sprint i use to see daily sounded really nice , overheating issues were eventually sorted . I think it was the radiator that needed to be bigger  :-\

Rover SDI was another favorite  :-* And the stag  :D ;D

The Dolly Sprint used the same boxy body as the Triumph 1500, which looked old-fashioned in 1970. :-\

Wasn't a very good car tbh.Looked old and handled like it too. Reasonably quick in a straight line in its day,and the single cam/16v arrangement was an interesting concept.

Relative to other quick cars at he time they were pretty awful in the corners tbh mate. I well remember having a race in my Chevette HS (which was bog standard at the time) against an ex works dolly sprint, which had cost the owner a LOT of money.
We raced around 10 miles or so of local Irish country roads which we both knew well, and I left him for dead. Being a cocky youngster (although not in the same league as the Dolly owner on that score) When I got to the agreed finish line, the first thing I did was light up a ciggy, and proudly showed him that I had almost finished it when he eventually arrived. ;D
