I like the jokes here. They cheer me up in the morning before I go to the sweat shop work.

how does posting loads of poor jokes increase your status on a car related forum?
i vote for all general chat post's to be wiped from post count - soon sort the wheat from the chaff ;)

The great aspect of this site is that it has sections for purely motoring topics, and other sections for general topics.

The vast majority of postings that we, including Debs and I (if you are having a dig at us as I suspect you are!), make have serious tones to them and can be often motoring related.  But talking for myself I do enjoy the social nature of various threads, and all the joking banter helps make this site not only informative but entertaining as well.

I personally could rabit on about all the cars I have worked on since 1971; all the various mechanical and electrical procedures I have carried out in that time, and up to only recently before purchasing again an Omega, along with all the experience gained over one million miles of motoring. However who wants to hear all that endlessly? :-? :-?

Now I am in a learning mode on Omega workings, including all the mistakes members make in attempting to maintain their pride and joys, and making contributions only when I can really assist someone, which stops some misleading advice being given which actually does happen on this site. ::) ::) ::) ::)

If you cannot contribute to the many threads that make this the popular site it is that is no-one elses problem but yours Hereford ::) ::) ::) ::) ::).  Please don't, out of sour grapes take the fun out of it by questioning other peoples worth.  ;)

Well what can I say.

We take on board the gripes of the forum, I would be happy for one to have a jokes section as JamesV6CDX was complaining last week.  But the admin are against it.

I take great care and put smileys, and Joke in the title to identify them then it is up to each individual member to view or bypass them.

I have no interest in tractors.

I have no interest in LPG

I was'nt really fussed in all the threades JamesV6CDX started regards his Miggy project with the blown head gasket.

But hey, when I came accross them I bypassed them and marked them as read.  was no big deal  Nothing at all againt JamesV6CDX

It's a forum with a general chat section.  For that reason I dont believe people are doing anything wrong.

Zero my post count if it makes you feel any better, I am here because I like the forum and I get loads of enjoyment from it.

Totally irrevelent to me.

i tend to look at the titles too much i think - when i first joined i had a lot of respect for the barons lords etc but have come to realise it only means you talk a lot ::)

back to general help for me ;)

Does this mean you have no Respect for the rest of us then.

No, it is their ability to contribute over a wide range of topics as well as provide some very worthwhile, purely Omega, advice, as most of us are trying to do to the best of our ability. ::) ::) ::) ::)

It's our own little chatroom (hate that word) but that's what it is & better than sitting in front of of the box. As for my post count, well i'll still be a seasoned OOFER with a peachy Mig regardless of how many stars i have on my avatar.
There are certain areas of the site where even i don't mess about & i'll be the first to happily admit to my lighthearted approach to life & cheesy jokes. We all have a choice.
Who famously said "i don't agree with what you said but defend your right to say it"?

As I am sat here at 4 in the morning with nothing better to say, I will add my two pennethworth:

Yes, this is a car ( Omega no less) related forum -- but it is also a community. I like to think we make friends here and, to a certain extent, socialise.

I came here because I knew very little about my Omega -- I am learning all the time. To be honest, if I had to limit my input to car related topics my post count would be a couple of dozen -- and all of those would be inane ( to the experts) questions.

A couple hundred of "me", doing that, would make the forum a dull place to be.
