Russia over 100 years a go in colour
« on: 05 September 2013, 20:50:09 »

Taken by Sergei Mikhailovish Prokudin-Gorskii between 1909 and 1915. He used a 3 plate camera with RGB filters to create the colour.  :y :y :y

There are also a couple of pictures of what is now Turkey.

Russia is usually portrayed as a largely agricultural country before the Bolshevik revolution, but in fact it was quite industrialized. In WWI the problem was not producing the equipment and munitions for war but their poor transport systems and lack of logistic skills in getting them to where they were needed.  :(

Excellent results for the time, most likely taken with a Miethe-Bermpohl camera. The photo of the old bloke standing on a raft, shows the obvious moving of colour filters in the movements of the water. But tremendous results for that time, and very labour intensive to produce.  :y

Under-steer is when the front of the car hits the wall, and over-steer is when the rear of the car hits the wall.
Power is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how much of the wall you take with you.
