Hi folks!
Been a member for ages but rarely (ever?) posted.  Any assistance with my present problem would be appreciated.
When my wife took the car (Omega 2.6 auto cdx with sunroof) through the drive-thru car wash, she
drove out, turned the car to the right; there was a great "whoosh" and water soaked the front passenger side footwell.
Any ideas as to where I should start looking?

As Fuse18 says, most likely blocked scuttle drain. This causes the water to rise in the scuttle (esp after rain. Or car wash!), and to flow over the top and into the cabin via pollen filter and cabin fan assembly.

It will quickly damage the speed controller, so as Fuse18 says, quickly unblock the drain.  Its likely that the pollen filter will be damaged as well, but you may be lucky and be able to dry it out.

Hi - I have a 2003 Omega 2.6L CDX with the same problem - blocked scuttle drain. I have VAXed out the crud and it does now seem to drain, but very slowly, and not quickly enough to cope with a heavy downpour (I live in Manchester!). I have fished around in the pollen filter area to try to unblock the drainage hole but cannot find it. The rubber grommet at the bottom is solid with no hole. From other postings on this problem, it seems there are different drainage points for different models? Can anyone tell me where it is on my model please? Many thanks.

No idea which grommet/drain you have, just have a poke around at the bottom of the pollen filter housing with a long stick ...... it'll drain/clear eventually

No idea which grommet/drain you have, just have a poke around at the bottom of the pollen filter housing with a long stick ...... it'll drain/clear eventually 

As Andy says .. your grommet will have a hole in it, but it is blocked with something, possibly more solid than a few leaves, or the leaves have coagulated into a solid mass. Hand in there and clear it all out job ..

Trouble is, some of the more ..... generously proportioned members have arms that are too fat big to allow them to get their hand to the bottom of the housing! 

My arms will just about squeeze in

If you have the larger type arm, try a coat hanger from the bottom,look for what looks like a plug piece of rubber hose poking out just below the abs pump near the chassis and poke away.

Thanks to all for help.
Couldn't get my manly muscular (i.e.fat) arms into scuttle drain, and despite poking about with wire and long screwdrivers etc, still haven't found the drain hole. However, pouring in hot water seems to have done the trick and dislodged the blockage - it's now draining a treat.
Now on to replacing the fan speed controller which was a casualty!

Yep thats what you need guys, it's flexible enough to be bent a bit but stiff enough to clear any blockages, about a meter should do it.

Be very careful when taking out the hedgehog I broke off the plastic clips and then you are in big trouble

The hole is not in the bottom , it is a bit on side.
Easiest is to get the water out by suction hose and then use vacuum cleaner to suck all the dirt away
