I think the point being made by phil her up is that the term "Johnny Foreigner" is not racist.

Maybe a new post was started to emphasis the point  ;)

Again, I understand it may not be viewed as rasict by all - but I suspect certain individuals may find it offensive if they felt it was directed at them.

I think we'll just have to agree to disagree - I still think it's a racially agrivated comment. ;)

I thoroughly agree James and the subsequent comments have made me quite sick!

Please could everyone remember this site has a world wide spread, and I dread to think what those "foreigner" must be making of all this!

Please stop this racist comment now before it becomes totally OTT and illegal.  I repeat we must never go down the Nazis Germany route!

They came for the foreigners,
and I did not stop them.

They came for the Jews,
and I did not stop them.

They came for the Trade Unionists,
and I did not stop them.

They came for me,
and there was no one left to stop them.

Remember, 54 million people died due to this ignorance.

May we never forget!

The bottom line is that we are ALL foreigners somewhere !

The problem with the original post, I think, was a "slip of the tongue", and the embarrasment caused thereby is making the "slip" take on a life of it's own.

I think the point of the post -- as I understand it --- is basically that the present government has c*cked up on so many levels it is destroying the country ..... to which I tend to agree! This causes great pressure and resentment, which is erroneously being directed at "outsiders". The real targets should be Mr Brown and his cohorts.
