« on: 23 September 2013, 12:47:42 »

Just found out that the brake pins I have been supplied in rear brake pad set are too short for 3.2

Can anybody help me with out with part number for the longer pins...and are thge antirattle springs the same across the range as cant compare as what I have just removed had none fitted.

Thanks guys :y

They were VX supplied but have had them for ages as bought for my old 2.5.

Remembered that pads were the same across the range but forgot about the longer pins and was unsure about the rattle springs.Did some researching and found the correct fitting kit for 3.2 with vented discs is 9192128 which I have just ordered with local stealer.

They said it was a factory order item and they were only showing 2 in stock so shows how often they get replaced.

My pins were just very rusty but springs were long gone so new kit will hopefully be here Thursday then can get the back end finished...then to start on the front

Yeah, as you've found out, the later V6s have vented rear discs, thus wider calipers, thus longer pins and anti rattle spring.

The pins and springs are quite dear on their own from dealer, I bet they'll be the wrong side of £20 :(

Try Ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rear-Brake-Pads-Fitting-Kit-Vauxhall-Omega-2-6-00-on-/160974968792?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item257adb17d8 - although from past experience I'd get the seller to confirm they are the longer pins and wider springs suitable for vented discs before you buy ;)

One the plus side, I have a brand new (unused) set of the shorter pins. :y

VX stealers quoted me £17=26 inclusive for the fixing set 9192128,which should be ready for collection from my local place Wednesday afternoon.

You live and learn so like you Mr Opti I allso now have a spare set albeith for the shorter unvented discs and as the only Omega I have with those styles of discs had the pads replaced some 5k ago and intend selling it on long before they will need replacing in my ownership.
