hi, can anyone help me in the proceedure of getting a small picture onto the web to add to my profile, please bear in mind I am rather computor illiterate, and would need the sequences spelt out for me......I have tried but what isULr? 8-)

You need to host your pictures elsewhere e.g., http://photobucket.com/

Upload your pictures once registered, then copy and paste the IMG Code link into relevant section on your profile

can anybody tell me what i have done wrong? i have the picture cim no on my profile but not the actual picture there is a small red x if that is any help

You need the full URL in your avatar link - not just the file name as you currently have..

Copy and paste the link from one of the three boxes under the pic on photobucket --- one should be labelled Avatar -- so the sizing is done for you

Once you have uploaded the pic you click the box as shown below and you get the message 'copied'



Oh you need to click the box labelled 'DIRECT LINK' not the one I have shown in the pic.

Then in the box where you put the link to the image right click and select paste, save/update and roberts your fathers brother

thanks for all the help. I now have (Ithink)the correct details to post to my profile but cannot seem to cancel out  the insufficient details i have already entered(I dont know how i did this) what I have got is; -http://185photobucket.com/albums/mikefrancis23792cimg0035-2.jpg   would you more knowledgeable people tell me if this is correct and if it is, how do i change what is already there, thanks

My Dad (omega_gee) is also having this same problem.I hosted his pics on Photobucket and tried for a while to get his pic in his avator,once back in his profile it had gone again,i'll watch with interest for the outcome!...Wayne

under your picture in your photobucket album, cut and paste the 'Direct Link' in to your profile.
