Colour displays are paired to the head unit, so you either need a display that is in "delivery mode" or you need to buy a NCDC20xx that comes with a colour display.

They don't often come up for sale here, German eBay is best bet, but there are risks buying from them.

If you buy a New Screen in Delivery Mode, you will still need your Car Pass Code and a Someone with a Tech II who knows what there doing.

I have a NCDC HU and Colour Screen paired together here (with Code) that I am debating whether to sell or not at the moment, mine is Bose Sound configured (as are most of them, Elites), guessing your 2.2 is not an Elite?

Could be configured back to non Bose mode, but Im not sure if that would need the HU and Screen Code or your Car Pass Code?, guessing the first one.

Edit:, wait one, may have read it wrong, Title says 3.2 Elite, but your car says 2.2?, which do you have?, if it is an Elite (UK Spec) then it will already have Bose, so another HU and Screen coded together (Paired) will fit straight in, with some minor additional Screen wiring.

Thanks,The 2.2 cd has gone,i have now bought this fantastic 3.2 Elite which i am going to spend a few quid on to make as near perfect as possible, however i am not very impressed with the monochrome display at all,i have no idea what the cost differential was on the new car extras spec list, but i would not have had this mono screen even if the colour one was markedly more money (which no doubt it was) cheers, Mick.

NCDC20xx not linked to car pass, they have no codes. Zirk is thinking of 2.2 petrol head units  :y

I know what you mean about the display, however there are benefits to the non-colour display, such as time displayed during directions.

Looks like you need to make Zirk an offer though if he is considering selling, not many around these days (that work anyway!)

500euros. really????

 :o

You could probably buy an Omega with a Colour display for that much, Possibly. They are a bit distracting the Colour displays though IMO.

NCDC20xx not linked to car pass, they have no codes.
"Oh yes they are"

but in a different way to traditional radios.

500 euros :o. I could be persuaded to part with my spares for that amount (the ones I didn't send to the ISS)

Just out of interest ................. last month, I had my 2013 out of the car for 4 days.
Went to refit it complete with carpass in hand and it powered up and worked no problem  :o
No request for a code or anything.

Can the code facility be turned off on these ?

That is correct operation

No (or more accurately, not possible to turn off and still remain usable for the sane)

There coded together or paired, so if you move them complete from car to car then no issues, however you need the original Car Pass of the Car they came from to make any changes with a Tech II, ie depair, pair changes or replace screen, reconfigure etc, most of the ones for sale probably wont have the original Car Pass Code, the set up I have does, well thats my understanding of it anyway, unless someone tells me otherwise.  ;)
