I do have a jig for the hole cutting but on the car its pretty challenging to use so I found hacking a smaller hole and then neatening the edges up worked better, you might just be able to make out the black marking on the steel for the hole required.

The boss welding issue should now be addressed as I replaced the shade in the welding mask at the weekend so can see again properly.
