One of the more bizarre request for parts from my breaker is a local guy who needs a windscreen. I haven't a hope of removing it myself without the tools I think you need but I think it's fair enough to let him sort removal himself on an " at your own risk basis" i.e pay first and if you bugger it up it's your problem.

 Any thoughts or has someone successfully removed one themselves?

Sharp knife would do it, lot easier with a cheese wire type tools they have with hand cranks on them

Have removed one myself done carefully it is theoretically possible to remove it without breaking it, but a bit of a gamble...

From your point of view if he screws it up, will the car still be secure/ watertight...

If car is indoors/undercover you could hwve a go at removing it yourself

Just had look in the garage and this is the stuff i have to do with windscreen removal. Along with the tool (somewhere)to stab the cheese wire through the bond and a windscreen stand.(trestle)

Assuming you have the suckers, you can buy the tool and some wire for around a tenner, the tool works well and is easier to work than you think, after going around with the wire I went around again with some thin string to increase the bond gap, biggest problem is getting the Screen off in one piece without cracking the bottom corners.

I found that after going around with the cheese wire, some of it stuck together again, so went again with some string, was a hot day though. Or maybe it had been stuck on with the wrong glue or something.
