Hi, Welcome. Dont know what BMW models are what but yes it is a BMW engine. There is a chip up grade to get it back to the BMW power output as it was detuned for Vauxhall by 50bhp. I also have a 2000 2.5TD but an estate with auto box

As Keith said it can be chipped for more grunt, but if its an auto you will want to change the gearbox from AR25 to AR35,otherwise the torque will have the box for a light snack.

Hi Chris, Welcome to the OOF.  :y

Under-steer is when the front of the car hits the wall, and over-steer is when the rear of the car hits the wall.
Power is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how much of the wall you take with you.

Beemer M51 TDS engine, just detuned.

Sounds like yours will have a 427 ECU, so there are some good maps out there. Just make sure everything else is in good working order first, as those BMW units can be quite fragile.

Either Omegatoy (our resident TD expert) or I can put you in touch with somebody who can provide some chip options - a fair few OOFers have these ones, including myself when I had a tractor Omega. There are some options on ebay, usually cheaper, but these seem hit and miss (mostly miss, based on the ones I've seen).

Definatly go with either Omegatoy or the boy for getting a chip. They have a lot of experiance with tuning these engines and wont steer you wrong.
