2.5td 0-60mph
« on: 12 October 2013, 10:39:53 »

So I got an omega sales brochure for 99p on flea bay during the week. Always buy one of these always cramed with useful info. Anyway I seen the 2.5td tractor in manual has a 0-60 of over 11 seconds. Nit suprised to be honest.

So tried mine there now. One attempt got 8.2 sec. Seems the lowrr raito lsd mapped brain etc have made a substantial difference.  Just makes me wonder what it will do with launch practice,  a long overdue service and this front mount ic fited and boost leak fixed.

Sounds optimistic.

Timings taken from the speedo and a hand held stop watch are far from accurate. :)

My TD auto seemed to be in the era of 8.5-9s, depending on how well the tyres worked, unscientifically with MID stopwatch and speedo.

Chipped, obviously.

My old Remapped BM 325 TDSE would hit 60 in a tad over 7 secs, followed by leaving a very embarrassing 'we need to close this area down' Black Smoke behind it  ::)

 :y  :y

Same here

But as stated above. Using the mid is hardly the most scientific approach to doing a 0-60. I takr it the peeler calibrated speedos are band on the readings? And can one be fitted to a td?

Any other ideas on getting a more accurate 0-60 measurement without having to buy or hire expensive equipment? ???

Plod speedo bolts straight in, engine irrelevant :y

But, for it to be accurate, the tyre and wheel sizes MUST be the same size thatthe speedo was calibrated to
