Warranty or no warranty, it dosn't matter as they've sold your son something that is defective and not fit for purpose.  :(  Hopefully they'll be fair.....  :-\

The Sale of Goods Act and The Consumer Credit Act (if financed) are there for situations like this and if they try and mug your son off, he should report them to Trading Standards!  :) 

He should loudly tell them that's what he'll do in the the showroom first though, preferably when it's full of punters!!  :y

Have they had the Mini yet?  ::)

Thanks Kevin but not on a Sunday. We had additional problem of no fuel as it was on reserve and we could not risk it starting, getting to garage to refuel and then failing to start so I had to get a gallon before we could do a thing.

Did you get my pm on another matter?
