You've been drinking, haven't you? You should do it more often. Or get some drugs from your 'service users'. ;D

On a serious note, I believe what the OP said. We are heading for an energy crisis. A hard winter could have tremendous political fallout if the lights go out as a result.

We're closing our coal-fired stations – Germany's building loads of new ones. ::) ::)

We're putting our economy in the hands of windmills. ::)

It's all very quaint to talk about making do with candles and wood-burning fireplaces, but the truth is that we are totally reliant on the microchip — for food, transport, health services, banking, policing, etc.

Significant outages would cause severe problems for our society as a whole. A chilling prospect.  :(

All the energy suppliers know that we need to build more capacity, but they are sitting on their hands waiting for the kind of subsidies that the windmill peddlers are getting. The government are starting to cave in, too, as they start to get desperate. Chinese sniffing round Hinckley point with a view to building a new reactor, with a 30 year guarantee on the price per MWH @ 3 x wholesale price IIRC. Chinese reactor.. Hmm. :o Give me a candle any day. :y

new gas stations and new nuclear stations that you're going to hear about very shortly."

Remind me, how long does it take to build a nuclear power station?......ffs stop with all the rather windmills................ :-X  As someone said, we rely so much on electricity for almost all of our services and activities, that power cuts would hit harder than ever in history, and bring everything to a stop..................... >:( Must pop to the bank and get some cash out..... ;) ;)

And how do you charge an electric car if there's no power coming through the socket?  ::)
