The US didn't run away with it ...again...  how the hell they couldn't do a simple interception job properly ? Not really understand why the US need to use secret service tools against allies...   When the US was facing with a former interception related failure officers answered to the French askers "so what however you bribe everybody... Lets be honest about this.

The US don't consider anyone to be an ally just that some are friendlier than other countries.

We wouldn't have heard about this and other stuff unless we had people prepared to go out on a limb like Edward Snowden did.

Will it stop them doing it in the future? Err Not a chance.

Everybody has been spying on each other since man started to walk this earth. In more modern times (certainly since the 18th century) the British have been experts at spying and intelligence gathering on other nations.  All through the First World War, and most certainly during WW2 into the Cold War, the British have spied on everyone; the Americans have spied on everyone; the Russians have spied on everyone, and so on.  You may have allies, but especially when you are a superpower you MUST keep abreast on any developments that may affect your empire.  In British terms our intelligence do "by any means" their work "in defence of the realm".  The Americans are doing exactly the same, and why not? 

All this political storm and indignation is purely for public consumption; all the world leaders know this is going on, but when it is made public they have to put on a show of "disgust"!

Nothing will change, and in defense of our realm, it must not.

True words yes but where is professionality? If you did your job as shit as the agency does tomorrow would certainly loose your job. I don't follow activity of any secret service just reading some newspapers, which are writing about US agency faults mostly to others and not these days only but continously.

Merkel mock outrage is exactly that as she is no innocent. Her father was allegedly a Stasi officer, who defected from West to East Germany.

So if you are in communication with anybody that regularly uses any of these words, you are probably being very closely watched 24/7 and very actively electronically monitored.
