Old mobile phones - Nokia?
« on: 29 May 2008, 12:32:15 »

Unfortunately my N95 has died a death - the backlight is playing up and it makes me want to chuck the thing, in the dark!

Can't be surprised really with the amount the screen has gone up and down.

I don't suppose anyone has an old mobile (anything at all, preferably nokia) that works, they'd fancy selling cheapish or donating to me?  ::)

Cheers!
James

What network are you on, James? A lot of phones will be locked to a specific network.

Were they not doing  a basic PAYG mobile phone at ASDA & Tesco for a fiver.

If you don't want an all singing & all dancing version -  that may get you outta trouble James.

Tunnie's your man for mobiles!

I bought a 6510 (quite an old one, no colour screen, no camera, basically a slightly posher 8310), off my brother because he didnt use it, boxed, in almost brand new condition with an extra fascia also brand new, unlocked, only thing missing is the radio earphones, which i never use, got it off him for £25 :y

i got one brand new on a contract a few years back, loved it then, still love it now!!

Followed by Sony Ericsson, K800i is particually well built.

I did offer my phones but you did not want them! lol...

Actually on the subject, i have forsale if anyone is interested:

Nokia N80
Nokia N70
Nokia 6230

I was in the same position in October and upgraded from a K800 to the K850, was a bit disappointed to be honest. I suppose it depends on what features you use...

The old 800 was great for grabbing a quick photo whereas the new one takes about 8-10 seconds to start the camera and take a pic which often leads to "missing the moment"

Other than that the touch screen buttons are a bit fiddly and the phones seem to have a habit of killing themselves, both my friend at work and I are on our 2nd handsets as they both malfunctioned in the same way! (constant restarting loop when trying to send a text)

That said, I have never got on with Symbian (if that is still used on nokias?) so it was the obvious upgrade form the 800.

HTH  :)

Edit: Apologies for the mini thread-jack  :-[
