Owned Omega for 4 years
« on: 30 October 2013, 14:36:41 »

On this day in 2009 I brought a Y reg  2.2 CDX and paid £15000 for her with 59000 miles on the clock.
And 4 years later I still have the best car I have owned in 40 years .
From day one the trouble started and in 4 years I have worried about
Water leak
Water in foot well
Drop Links, Top strut mount, Anti roll bar, Idler arm (twice)all replaced just for a knock,
Then garage spotted a bulge in the one end of the Steering centre tie rod rubber, a quick squirt of WD40 rubber squeak noise stopped
Then 1 week later knock stopped, why don’t know, so will now will replace that item
Cracked manifold
Broken rear spring
Oil around spark Plugs
And don’t for get EML O yes the EML, ran the girl for 18 month with the light on replacing every thing except the Lambda sensor.
Nearest the manifold guess what, that now replaced no EML great all sorted.

After all this we love the car to bits even with now 104000 miles clocked never let us down never recovered.
I had the offer to buy the sons BMW convertible no thanks.

So to you all in Omega Forum a great big thanks for all your help, for with out that help Desmond would have been turned into tin cans by now.
And so here is hoping for the next 4 years.
Thank You all Rockbilly

Aye, not bad old buses.

Of all the Omegas I've owned, my favourite is still the first, which I bought 10yrs ago last week. Its properly let me down once, that was on a French Motorway, just outside Dijon, due to the usual V6 crank sensor.

Its had a few little niggles, esp recently, but I'd jump in it tomorrow to drive on the continent, I trust it implicitly.
