I did wonder how long it would take someone to post regarding this issue, and I'm in full agreement  :y

Hell, I haven't been able to walk in to McDonalds while wearing a crash helmet for the last 20+ years, so I see no reason why anyone else should get away with hiding their face under the guise of religion (especially when Islam doesn't even mention the burka as being in any way a religious artefact/requirement).

Very true the way some of the men treat them is terrible. I had one couple in my shop not so long ago where she stood behind him and would not talk to me even though I was trying to engage her in the conversation.

But I suppose they are from a different culture that we can get our heads round.

So consider this quote from the BBC .....

"Somali-born Mr Mohamed entered the mosque in Acton, west London, in western-style clothes, but was seen on CCTV leaving with his face and body fully covered by a burka."

So how do they know the person leaving the mosque was Mr Mohamed?  ???  Whoever it was, was wearing a burka!!!  ::)  Could have been anyone...  :o

Am I missing something here?  :-\

I think we should have a national OOF 'Wear a burka for a day'  :)

On a given day we should all wear a burka and fill up at Tesco's and stand in front of their recognition camera advert thing!  :)

I wonder it would make the national news?  :-\  ;D

A giant bat was in our local CoOp and I asked the supervisor if I would get served with my face covered except for my eyes? Her reply was "Yes, but only because we'd know it was you" ::) ;D ;D ;D

Actually thinking about it, it's a stupid idea as OOF would be labeled an ultra right wing politcal movement and would be banned!!  ::)  ;D
