I think there is little doubt in the minds of the average motorist and policeman that the more manned patrols out on the beat and in motorway patrol cars the more crime can be tackled. :y

The problem is politics and the need to raise cash for local authorities, as well as reducing the cost of policing has become the priority, so the camera is considered the answer to all! >:( >:(

Thiis one goes with all the other costs of motoring that are treated purely as governmental income. >:(

We need a complete change of leaders / policies / politics to meet the ACTUAL needs of the people and the community. :y

i did notice whil in marlow, everywhere is free parking for 2 hrs, havent seen a parking warden in 4 days of being there.

As I have said elsewhere -- if they abolish all the bl**dy targets and let everyone get on with the jobs they are trained and employed to do, everything will run a lot smoother
