The plot thickens on my 2.2DTi Hearse....
« on: 12 November 2013, 15:09:26 »

Following on from my original thread... http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=117760.0

Car went back into my mates garage for a 'Diesel Expert' to investigate the irregular boosting issues further, Diesel expert tested all systems, vac ok, turbo ok, found faults with the MAF & air intake temp leaving error codes.  Faults cleared and new items fitted - issue still exists so old items refitted. Next step is ECU testing :-/ Back to square 1....

Any comments/thoughts welcome as I'm getting miffed now  :-\

Are the vacuum solenoids piped up correctly? Theres a diagram somewhere on the net. Look for 2.2 dti vacuum routing. You really need diagnostic to see if its commanding boost.

Well there is a question, all the solenoid's have been replaced and all vacuum tubing has been renewed along with connectors. Whether or not everything is as it should be remains to be seen, I replaced everything in the same way it was on the car already - But I'm led to believe that it has been fiddled with by people in the past.

Finding an accurate layout of the vacuum routeing would be brilliant but the ones I can find seem different to what is on the car

So a little update, for the countless consecutive Mon & Tues in a row the car is back in the garage having the Auto Electrician play with it and his Vaux-Com after the Diesel expert pretty much didn't have any idea apart from a possible ECU issue?

So last week the AE diagnosed the boost pressure sensor on the inlet manifold, bought new from VX, replaced but issue still pursists.  So today its having a new MAF from VX as the current one won't read any higher than 500 (I'm guessing its reading would be afm?) when underload.

I do have an vacuum guide from Andy which i will use to double check all pipes are in the right places.

Watch this space for further intriguing updates lol

I have a ECU here if you have to go down that way and an engine with fuel pump with only 48,500 miles on it :y

Find somebody to check the actual vacuum reading at idle. Verify the brake servo isn't leaking vacuum away. Blank if required and drive cautiously in a quiet area away from hazards etc. Etc. Etc. Brakes will be hard without servo.
Had a leaking servo on a vectra dti that caused EGR faults and limp mode due to P0400.
Could your times when boost is unavailable be related to brake applications?

I can't remmber how well the vacuum pump on the vectra performed (I work on a lot of cars, most with horrid problems) but think it was 22inches vacuum at idle after the servo was changed and only 16inches mercury with the duff servo.
