Isuzu 1.7 TD (cavalier) running problem.

Car started losing power a couple of days ago on the way to work. On the way home next morning it got slower & slower, to the point where I just made it home very slowly. The last mile was 10mph in 1st gear. It will rev to 1500rpm and no more. Ive had this before and its always been a sign the filter has blocked. Changed the filter, but it was still the same. Then bypassed everything before the pump and ran a pipe from a can of diesel straight to the pump - still the same, 1500 rpm.
Only other thing I could think of was to crack open the injector pipes one at a time to bleed them,which Ive now done,but its still the same.
There wasn't as much diesel spitting out of the pipes as I thought there would be when I cracked the injectors.
I thought possibly turbo troubles,but I think if that was the case,the engine would eventually rev to its max revs ?
I think I have a fubared pump, unless anyone knows better ?  :-\

Is there a little gauze filter on the pumps inlet pipe?,not sure if the suzu engine has one but worth a look :y

Assuming the Turbo is spinning, wouldn't have thought it would restrict the revs, just be a bit down on ummff.

Any way you can measure boost?

Is there a little gauze filter on the pumps inlet pipe?,not sure if the suzu engine has one but worth a look :y

I seem to recall there a Bosch VE4 pump?

Check the load diaphram on the top of the pump also and its connection to the inlet manifold.

Theres a gauze filter inside the banjo bolt that attaches the inlet pipe to the pump.Have had that blocked before and cleaning it solved the problem.It was clear this time. Ive had a look for a gauze filter in the pump inlet but there doesn't seem to be one,unless its so far down the tube that it cant be seen ?

The Bosch pump on these engines is famous for running on veg oil indefinitely without giving any problems, which is why Im surprised it seems to be giving trouble.  :(

Had a god look down the inlet on the pump and there isn't a gauze filter,so I presume it changed to gauze inside the banjo bolt at some point. Cant think what else to look at tbh. Assuming pump is knackered. :'(
Down the scrappy by the look of things,which is a sham as it has 10 months MOT and quite a lot of new parts recently. :(

Get another pump of a scrapper,plenty of them about surely ???

One on ebay for £65.Not sure its worth spending the money,and not sure whats involved in changing the pump. :-\

Well,the car costs fack all to run and 65 quid is about half a tank of diesel,maths look good to me ::)

Car has coincidentally been replaced a week ago. Original owner wants to buy it back from me though. He has always loved that old heap of rust for some reason. I could never understand why until I had owned it a while and realised I too had grown fond of it.  :-\ ::) ;D

The plan was for me to use it for another month while Im getting the replacement tidied up ,MOT,d & VIC checked,then return it to the previous owner. Im now using the Omega all the time,and even with LPG the running costs are killing me.Ive been spoilt by 40mpg at 45 ppl. ::)
