My ebay listings
« on: 30 May 2008, 18:52:08 »

Further to James' problems with his ebay transaction:

So as to leave people in no doubt of my intentions, my listings go something like:

FOR SALE...Blah, blah, blah

Bidders with less than 10 positive feedbacks will have their bids deleted. If you have a great deal of positive feedback from buying 50p trading cards, you bid will be deleted. If you are from a foreign country, your bid will be deleted. If I dont like the look of your username or you live in a deprived area of the country, your bid will be deleted.

GOOD LUCK!

LOL -- you should see all the conditions we post up on our auctions -- I have come to the opinion that most of the buyers cannot read -- just look at the pictures !!!!

I can't understand why people moan about Ebay. Its a calculated risk that every knows about, so it can't be a shock when it happens ::)

You cant leave buyers negative feedback, but if you dont like the look of 'em, shoot them stop them bidding.

as said by myself in another thread, i use by it now all the time, with paypal "immediate payment required"

i get plenty messages saying "i want what you're selling but it wont let me buy, can you tell me why please?"

no foreigners, no neg feedback, and no one without paypal, my listings only end once they actually complete payment :y

Hmmm .... I would say 40% of my buyers are abroad -- never had a problem. Postal service in Italy is slow, to say the least, even Russia haven't lost anything yet !!!!  Mainland Britain, though, is a different matter !

i tend not to use royal mail for larger item, couriers are better and to be honest royal mail is CRAPOLA

I wasn't aiming at the postal delivery services (OK -- I was at Italy's !).
I was, clumsily, referring to the buyers claiming "losses" or "non delivery" in order to get a refund when they had, in fact, got the goods!
I find that a good proportion of the potential scammers are in mainland Britain as opposed to those abroad.
But, then I deal in low value goods -- not worth the effort of a scam, I guess

I think it's the same in all walks of life, Danny.  I, and it seems, you, take pride in doing a fair day's work for a fair day's pay ----- others don't.
It boils down to self-respect. To be honest, I don't do the best I can at work for the sake of my employer -- I do it for me.
