Which lap top...?
« on: 18 November 2013, 22:21:16 »

For Mrs Gixer. Hers is old and creaking. She's reluctant to part with it but the inevitable day is coming.

Needs to be a big quality screen. Quick. 1TB drive. Latest Doze os. Blu ray capable? :-\ etc.

The muts nuts in other words. Oh, and £350 budget. Should be quite easy for you lot. :)

You need to up the budget slightly if you want Blu-ray, the only manufacturers I would consider for laptops are Asus and Toshiba.

got a friend here-this is what she says------i think that you would be extremely hard pressed to get a lappy with the top of everything for 350, if your willing to go with the core i.5 you would be less pressed but to run 1TB and blueray with what i assume would be a 17.3 inc widescreen you would need either 6 or 8 GB of RAM your best bet is actually to build one if you know anyone to do so as it costs less but i brought my laptop which has all you are asking for but with 680GB of harddrive for £1500 2 years ago and can now get that for £900 so you may need to go for lower specifications or raise your budget or buy second hand which can be risky as you never know how they have been treated.

Blu Ray isn't really a high priority. But I presume they can be upgraded.

Straight laptop none of this touch screen nonsense where the screen separates from the base. Long battery life, big drive, big screen etc. :)

Ok ignore the budget for a minute, let's nail down a particular model first.
