v6 camshaft identification

Hello!

I've red Marks topic about it - http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152565319

BUT... I'm in doubt.
Here's situation: I've stripped my c25xe (european one, from calibra) and I've heads from x30xe omegas (uk one).

the problem is that those cams have LOT of digits and characters. and I can't understand - which are those meaningfull ones.

here's a list of characters and digits found on cams:

V6 ones are shorter and have 6 lobes.  The I4 ones are longer with 8 lobes.  Happy to help!  ;)

not quite helping, since Im not talking about I4 cams, but ONLY V6 ones.

I think it's "A", "C" and "G" you're looking out for, and based on what's supposed to be in each model:

left exhaust
A73
C3
20M4
LYD18D

left intake
A74
C3
16M4
LYD17A

right intake
A74
C3
20M4
LYD8N

right exhaust
A80
C3
21M4
LYD6N

x30xe cams from Omega
left exhaust
A1
GC16

IIRC, the letters that matter are stamped near the sprocket end rather than cast in. The cams start off as the same casting and it's how they're ground that determines their characteristics so anything that's cast can probably be ignored.

The C25XE used A cams for the inlet and exhaust, the X30XE uses A's for the exhaust and G's for the inlets.

This is also where some confusion comes from because the the X25XE does NOT use the A cams at all so when upgrading it you ideally need to swap all four cams unlike the C25XE where you can swap just the inlets.

yes, those Kevins highlights were closest to sprocket... I was just paranoic that those cams could be mixed up from many cars (bad&cheap repair)...

so - then I'll feel relieved. and just put those babies in my sweet 'libras engine.
