seems a lot of potential problems getting them out if they haven't completely failed.....I take it you cant simply cut them out with Mr Stanley? i.e. just keep hanging away at them til they're nothing other than shreds of rubber?
Nope. They have a substantial metal insert moulded into the bush. You may well get the centre out, but that's of no use at all.
This is an awkward job tbh. Even if the bush is in good nick. If it's separated they have to be dug out with a stick/pry bar/hammer and chisel/claw hammer, what ever you have that gives leverage or folds the outer body in on itself.
...although I prefer a baring puller with the centre bolt refitted, this doesn't work if the bush metal is rusted as it just folds up, the baring puller pops off and the bush doesn't move.
Why do I have a feeling we changed yours though...? You did say the rubber bump stop didn't move, so that would imply the rear donuts are ok, no?
I remember doing rear springs in yours defo. Other than that....
