Sounds like a tired PAS pump if steering is stiff, but ok with revs.

For starting, could be a number of things. Have you done paperclip test for the codes? (details in maintenance section)

Turning over slowly and idling low won't be helping the power steering pump, especially if it's done a few miles :-\

I'd be looking to check the alternator/battery and associated wiring as per the guide... being colder and gloomier of late, the electricals take a kicking, which soon sorts weaker batteries from the better ones :y

1) No, you use a paperclip, one of these  ::) - Full details on how to use it, here: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90581.0

2) PAS = Power Assisted Steering

Humm, ok. Have you read the information here?

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90581.0

The car's onboard computer (the ECU) stores lots of information, when/how to fire spark plugs, fuel loads ect. When a problem starts, for example a sensor malfunctions, an error code is generated, the cars onboard computer (the ECU) registers and logs this code.

Using a paperclip, jammed as described into certain points in the diagnostic port, you can get the engine management light on the cars main dashboard (one with rev counter and speedo) to blink.

You can count these blinks, as described in the above link, which translate into a numbered code.

These codes, for example "19" link to a problem, such as "Crank sensor failure"

Stiff at low rpm, say while manouvering to park while off the throttle... tired pas pump. Replace.

Randomly stiff, say it becomes stiff at speed, while on the power, replace servotronic relay.
