I'd love an 11% pay rise
« on: 08 December 2013, 08:26:01 »

How are these liars politicians justifying an 11% pay rise when the common wage earner is struggling to make ends meet. Something's not right with this country :(

AH! yes but it's the recommendation of an independent body ::) ::) so it's not the MP's voting for their own pay rise this time but you can bet your sweet life that despite the leaders being against it ::) ::) they all take it. >:( >:( >:( >:(

NOSE, TROUGH :( :o :o :(

and why do they need 2 houses?
if  I work away I get a bed and breakfast place, and if its for security then they could buy a big house and share it and have security for a fraction of the price.

Disgraceful when 13million of their constituents are below the poverty line.

But somehow all three party's have refused the pay rise previously, but are having it forced on them by "the independent parliamentary standards authority"

...oh really! They must think we where all born yesterday.

Why do you think they made it an 'independent group' after all such a system works well for executive pay and we all know how badly public company directors are paid.  :( :( :( :(

Personally, I would be happy for them to earn £500,000 a year if we ended up with real quality management in Parliament so the country was run professionally and well rather than by a bunch of on the whole useless talentless amateurs and they made 100% of our laws not just 20%, where they pay an expensive elective dictatorship in Brussels to dictate 80% of them, the lazy tinkers. Unfortunately, the Brussels experience shows that much better paid politicians are even worse bigoted zealots, so that would make it even worse.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

Let's look at it this way:_
1. The PM is just that and should in theory be paid the most from the public purse.

2. Followed by members of Cabinet down to common or garden MP's.

3. No public servant should be paid more than the PM.

Now I don't intend by this to increase their salaries, but all civil servants should take a MASSIVE pay cut. This includes Head Teachers, NHS executives, Council executives ETC ETC. It is about time we said NO after all it is our money these trough feeders squander and they should be brought to account. :y :y :y

I doubt there is such as a thing as an Independent Government body, bit of an oxymoron to me. ::)

I've already signed a petition against this. :y
From what I gather, this 11% pay rise was to replace their expenses. However...greedy b******s now are baying for the pay rise AND keep the expenses !!!!! >:(

What a glorious band-wagon to be on !!!!!!!!!!!

And what has to be remembered, this salary is only a part of what MP's really earn, with directors fees, afterdinner talks, TV appearances, etc, etc, etc

Ooh, yeah, that's how it goes. Fat cats get a pay rise and ridiculous bonuses while pretending to their minions they're suffering as well.

We're all in it together.  .....Bolleeeeerx!

Nope, we're definitely all on the same boat, it's just that they're in the two story balcony suites, and we're in the bilges...

Trouble is, we can't see where the boat is heading from below the waterline :-\
