I've been to Budapest a few times!  :y

The first was in 1995 and then again 2 or 3 times over 2003-4.  It changed a lot in the time between 1995 and 2003.  :)

Lots of grand architecture, good pubs, clubs and restaurants, very friendly people and cheap too! The thermal baths are a great place to relax as well and one to definately put on the list of things to do!  :y

I'd certainly recommend it as a good place for a weekend city break!  :y :y :y
