Car forums.
« on: 22 December 2013, 22:41:59 »

Nicked from another forum, but thought it might go down well here too.
A typical day in the life of a car forum.
A newcomer says they are considering buying a BMW 320d but wonders if there may be other suitable cars they haven't thought of.
One member gives a useful answer based on experience. Seven others don't. Nine members make in jokes a newbie wouldn't understand. The newbie doesn't come back.
Someone boasts about racing another car and hints at driving at 120mph on public roads. Seven people aren't impressed, one uses the word "idiot", someone gets banned but not from driving. An argument breaks out.
An owner of a Nissan GT-R lists all the ways he considers the vast engineering dept. at Nissan didn't do an adequate job and lists all the things he, a builder from Rochdale, has done to remedy the situation.
Someone makes reference to their girlfriend for no real reason other than to tell the world they actually have a girlfriend.
Someone mentions Top Gear. Three people say its an entertainment show and not a motoring programme,as if they were the first people ever to think of this.
Someone mentions that Rovers are rubbish. Two people vehemently defend them.
Someone makes a cack handed attempt at boasting about how much they earn.
Nissan GT-R owner declares the GT-R is the best supercar money can buy. 18 people take issue with the description of it as a supercar. An argument breaks out.
Someone starts a discussion about home electronics. Someone takes the opportunity to boast about the size of their TV as though boasting about the size of their penis. Someone smugly provides unrequested evidence about the speed of their broadband connection.
A lone voice asks if we can get back to cars.
A man with a picture of a pair of breasts under his username accuses someone else of being being childish.
Someone refers to their car only by the obscure factory code name.
Someone asks an innocent question about wiper blades. A member  crushes him with passive aggressive disdain before their mum tells them to get off the computer and come down for their tea.
A man whose username is a car he hasn't owned for 6 years asks for advice on a small practical car for his wife - budget £3500.
Someone immediately suggests "a Boxster like mine".
A contributor confirms that "yes, I am female". Seven male contributors make inept attempts at being charming.
Someone posts a pic of a moderately famous actress and asks if she is hot or not ? Seven people immediately say they wouldn't touch her with a bargepole, as though they were Brad Pitt. None of them are Brad Pitt. A lone voice asks of "we can keep this to cars ?".
Ten pages later the debate is still rolling. It is no longer safe to view at work.
Someone asks a question, that with a little effort could have been answered by a search. Four people point this out, one of them is a real dick about it. An argument breaks out.
Someone makes a claim based on no information whatsoever. Two people claim "they have heard that too".
Someone asks for proof. None is forthcoming. An argument breaks out.
The world keeps turning.................

That wasn't me, but I do remember who had Denise Milani as his Avatar (87% of the forum start googleing)  ::)
