Can't fully open bonnet
« on: 24 December 2013, 12:10:08 »

The cable and catch inside car is fine

Can't open bonnet fully after its popped though as the small metal rod from the little black lever under the bonnet has come adrift!

Anyone know if this can be reconnected with bonnet open only a few inches

I can grab it but it was too dark to see anywhere to connect it last night!

Persistent prodding with a long screw driver in roughly the right direction should do it...
Bonnet needs to be a couple of mm lower than as far as it goes otherwise you won't be able to move the safety catch :y

Thinking about it, you might be able to get it through the grill as the safety catch is mounted to the bonnet rather than in it...

Large flat bladed screwdriver straight in, lever up against the slam panel. Don't force it though, but you should feel the bonnet lift as you move the safety catch :y

Or a coat hanger to pull the catch towards the front of the car :y
